December 8, 2021 | What To Do
The holiday season is a wonderful time to connect with family and friends. However, between Thanksgiving, office parties, and the holidays themselves, many people find themselves spending a lot of time in the kitchen! If you’re in need of a break, here are three Long Island restaurants that will be open on Christmas Eve.

Union Steak and Sushi in Southampton is offering a whole feast on Christmas Eve featuring a four-course prix fixe menu for $69 per person. Delectable appetizers include lobster bisque, baby green salad, jumbo lump crab cake, warm artichoke and spinach fondue. The entree list features beef Wellington, seared rack of lamb with scallop potatoes and maple-glazed Cornish game hens. Don’t leave Union without ordering one of their exquisite desserts, you can’t go wrong with the mocha tiramisu or warm apple tartlet.
Almond will be hosting its 21st annual Christmas Eve Suckling Pig Roast, sourced from Roaming Acres Farm. The holiday ham, served with season accompaniments, costs $49 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pajama Program, an organization that provides new, cozy nightwear and books to children in need throughout the world. Almond will also be offering their regular a la carte menu. The pig roast will be from 5 to 9 p.m., to make a reservation or for more information, call 631-537-5665.

Interestingly enough, Chinese food on Christmas is a tradition in many families. If that’s the case, then you’ll be thrilled to hear that Beijing House in Syosset will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The restaurant was selected this year by Newsday as one of the top 100 restaurants on Long Island and the menu offers Chinese American classics along with Northern Chinese dishes. Standout dishes include the cucumber and jellyfish salad, cumin lamb, kung pao chicken and braised beef noodle soup.
