Prost! It's Time for Oktoberfest

Prost! Oktoberfest 2022 will be taking place from September 17th to October 3rd. Oktoberfest has been a major part of Bavarian culture since the first festival was held in 1810. It has now spread across the globe, with millions celebrating the 16-18 day event. Many restaurants, bars, breweries and beer gardens throughout Long Island are serving special food and drink menus and hosting fun activities to mark the occasion. Break out your lederhosen, because its time for Oktoberfest!

Rowdy Hall

Rowdy Hall, located in the quaint Parrish Mews of East Hampton, will celebrate Oktoberfest beginning Saturday, September 17th with a special German two course prix fixe for $32 through October 3rd. The famous giant Bavarian pretzel with beer mustard will be offered a la carte during Oktoberfest for $11, and weekly Oktoberfest specials will include knockwurst, bratwurst, bockwurst, kassler rippchen and wienerschnitzel. Dessert options include molten chocolate Black Forest cake and apple pecan strudel.

Garden Grill

The Garden Grill, located in a historic building in Smithtown dating from 1873, uses American classic home-cooked techniques, soups and sauces slow-simmered from home-made stock and the freshest seafood delivered daily. The menu for Oktoberfest will include sauerbraten, beef goulash, and a selection of German beers to accompany your meal. Oktoberfest flags and music will set a festive mood.

Plattduetsche Park Beer Hall and Garden

Party like a German at Plattduetsche Biergarten! Located in Hempstead, Plattduetsche is as authentic of a German beer garden experience that you can get on Long Island. Besides the main building restaurant, they have a beer hall, biergarten, brathaus, catering halls and a large event space. Everything from German food, beers, music, dancing, demonstrations plus activities for kids will all be there. The giant pretzel is imported from Munich itself! Tickets are $10 an adult while kids under 12 are free. Reservations aren’t required.

Long Island Beer Company in Riverhead will feature over 150 samples of craft beer, including many from New York breweries, for Oktoberfest There will also be live music, interactive games and food available for purchase. 21 and over only. Tickets can be purchased online.
