By: Olivia Barris

March Madness is the ultimate college basketball showdown. Picture this: 68 teams battling it out, and if you lose once, you're out. Fast, furious, and full of surprises, March Madness is the slam-dunk spectacle that turns basketball into a heart-pounding thrill ride every spring. With that being said, here are the four best bars and restaurants on Long Island to watch the basketball tournament.

Momo’s Sports Bar and Grill is a fan-favorite Long Island staple located in Holbrook. Its popular counterpart, Momo’s Too Sports Bar and Grill in Bayport, won 2024 Bethpage’s Best of Long Island Best Sports Bar and Grill. Both locations have a large variety of beers on tap, along with a Miller Lite pitcher available for only $10! As far as food goes, they have classic bar snacks like wraps, burgers, wings, paninis and many other “pre-gamer” appetizers, enhancing your game watching experience at the bar.

Croxley’s Ale House in Farmingdale encourages its patrons to “drink outside the box.” A local sports bar chain with additional locations in Rockville Centre and Franklin Square, Croxley’s craft beers, pub grub, wings, and several drink specials, making this spot a worthwhile must-try. The bar’s happy hour, available Monday through Friday, features $1 off all cocktails and beers, $5 Croxley Blondes, $6 wines by the glass, and their $5 featured beer of the week. On top of that, they currently have their World Famous Wing Nights, where their wings are available for only 50 cents on Mondays and Wednesday nights! Crazy deals!

The daily specials are as follows: Margarita Monday, Tuesday Wing Night, Taco Wednesday, College and Ladies Night on Thursday and First Responder Friday. When it comes to food, they have half-priced appetizers from Monday to Saturday with their kitchen staying open until 3 a.m. in case you have some spontaneous cravings.

They have a full-service bar with an extensive drink selection, with 70 whiskey bottle selections, local craft beer from 7 taps, and multiple cocktails (a favorite is the TL Dawg).
