Nomiya, located in Garden City, New York, offers a modern take on traditional Japanese cuisine. With its minimalist design, featuring a hickory-accented bar and sleek black granite walls, the restaurant creates a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The name “Nomiya,” which means “saloon” in Japanese, reflects its inviting vibe.

The menu, crafted by Chef James Choi, highlights a fusion of Japanese cuisine and Asian influences. Standout items include the Rock & Roll Shrimp Tempura, served in a rich cream reduction with a crispy finish, and the Alaskan Miso Black Cod, delicately marinated and broiled to perfection. The Spicy Tuna Roll, a staple favorite, offers bold flavor and balance, while the Korean Short Ribs, grilled and glazed in a savory soy-garlic marinade, provide a hearty and satisfying option.

To complement the meal, Nomiya offers an extensive selection of premium sake and inventive cocktails made with soju, Korea’s national drink. Guests can also indulge in refreshing house-made sodas flavored with mandarin, lychee, or yuzu, making for a complete dining experience.
