The Three Village Inn, a historic landmark dating back to the 18th century, has long been a cherished part of Stony Brook. Lessing’s Hospitality Group has been at the helm of Mirabelle Tavern for nearly two decades, offering expertly crafted cuisine that blends classic flavors with modern twists. This rich legacy continues with the introduction of new menu items that build on the Inn’s commitment to exceptional hospitality. The history of the location provides the perfect backdrop for the latest culinary innovations.

A standout feature on the new menu is the 1890 Burger, a tribute to the founding year of Lessing’s. The burger was carefully crafted after months of perfecting the meat blend and refining the toppings, with a 45-day custom dry aged beef patty from Pat LaFrieda as its star. The 1890 burger is then topped with Tillamook smoked cheddar, white onion, a special sauce and is served on a freshly baked sesame seed bun. “We embraced simplicity, allowing the burger’s natural flavors to shine,” shares Michael Lessing Jr., Director of Restaurant Operations.

Led by Culinary Institute of America graduate Peter Baran, Mirabelle Tavern’s culinary team has reimagined the menu with new starters, mains, and signature dishes. The team, which also includes Executive Chef William Muzio and Chef Emeritus Guy Reuge, has worked to craft innovative dishes such as their Montauk lobster agnolotti and wild mushroom toast. Complementing these culinary creations, the beverage program introduces inventive cocktails that incorporate organic ingredients and artisanal techniques. Among the new offerings are the Mirabelle ‘25, a sophisticated blend of vodka, dry vermouth, bitters, caviar, and a lemon twist, and the Mischief Mushroom, a unique mix of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Amaro Lucano, lemon juice, truffle oil, dill tincture, and absinthe. Mirabelle Tavern currently serves lunch Wednesday through Saturday from 12 pm to 4 pm, dinner Wednesday through Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm, and Sunday brunch from 11 am to 3 pm.
