Check out the Hottest Night in Town: Lifeguard Night at Post Office Cafe
July 15, 2019 | What To Do
Signature cocktails + beach tunes + drink specials = the perfect summer celebration.
Summertime means hitting the beach, and who is keeping us safe at the beaches? Lifeguards! The legendary Lifeguard Night at The Post Office Café is back this summer and is the place to be every Tuesday night. Started in 1985 by Gilgo Beach lifeguard Lou Howard, Lifeguard Night features guest lifeguard bartenders, awesome drink specials and the house DJ spinning beachy tunes.
Drink specials on Lifeguard night include $3 Miller Lite, $4 Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey & Fire Shots, $5 Montauk cans and the signature cocktail of the night the SHARK ATTACK! The shark attack, served in a fishbowl with a gummy shark, features Finlandia grapefruit and Absolut citron vodkas, blue curacao and pineapple juice, perfect for sharing. There’s a $5 cover, but lifeguards get in for free of course. And look for Sammy the Shark, a mechanical ride on shark, on select Lifeguard nights to add to the fun.
