Football is back, fall is officially here, and there are plenty of reasons to meet up for a drink. Whether your ideal afternoon means catching the game over wings and a cold beer, settling in for cocktails after work, or leaning into the flavors of the season, Long Island restaurants are rolling out specials made for fall.

If your fall plans lean more toward happy hour than kickoff, The Melting Pot in Farmingdale has you covered. Their Down to Fondue Happy Hour is available Sunday through Friday and features half-off cheese and chocolate fondue alongside specials on handcrafted cocktails, beer and wine—the perfect excuse to trade the usual bar bites for something a little more interactive.

Fall flavors are also making their way to the fondue pot with the limited-time Fondue into Fall menu, available through November 22. Cranberry Pecan Cheese Fondue, Apple Almond Salad and Pumpkin Spice White Chocolate Fondue bring some of the season’s signature flavors to the table, alongside seasonal sips to complete the experience.

If football is more your speed, four Long Island restaurants are making game day an easy call this season. Goldy’s Gems in Bay Shore, Library Café in Farmingdale, Finnegan’s in Huntington and Post Office Café in Babylon are all offering food and drink specials during NFL games.

Across all four locations, regular and boneless wings are just $1 each, with Miller Lite available for $5 a pint or $15 a pitcher and seasonal selections for $6 a pint or $20 a pitcher. Depending on the location, canned favorites including High Noons, Surfsides, Lucky Ones and Sun Cruisers are also available for $6 each or $25 for a bucket of five. With locations stretching from Nassau to western Suffolk, you can pick the bar closest to home, grab your crew and settle in for the game—with wings and a cold drink already taken care of.

For football fans who want to make Monday night feel a little more like the weekend, RC Dugans in East Meadow has the right game plan. Every Monday Night Football game comes with half-price large wings and $5 Bud Light drafts while the action is on.

And the football specials aren't limited to Mondays: on Sundays, RC Dugans shows all NFL games and offers half-price wings, $5 Bud Light drafts, $6 select pumpkin beers, $6 Corona Light and Modelo, and additional drink specials throughout the day. With football on the TVs, wings on the table and a pumpkin beer in hand, it checks plenty of boxes for a fall game day without having to watch from the couch.

Not every fall happy hour needs a football game attached. At Daisy’s in Miller Place, the weekly lineup offers plenty of reasons to stop by once the workday is over. Honky Tonk Happy Hour runs Tuesday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., while Wednesday Wing Night brings $1 wings, $3 Miller Lites and additional food and drink specials starting at 3 p.m.

For something a little more substantial, Daisy’s also lists its Sunset Prix Fixe Supper Tuesday through Thursday, offering three courses for an easy weeknight dinner. Whether you're meeting friends for happy hour, making Wednesday your wing night or sticking around for dinner, Daisy’s gives you more than one excuse to get out during the week.

Make the Most of Fall

Football season and happy hour happen to pair pretty well together. Add in a few pumpkin flavors, plenty of wings and an excuse to meet up with friends, and suddenly the shorter days don't seem so bad.

Whether you're dipping into fall flavors in Farmingdale, cheering on your team with wings and a beer, spending Monday night at the bar in East Meadow or meeting friends for happy hour in Miller Place, these Long Island spots make it easy to eat, drink and enjoy the season.
