Outdoor igloos, this trend has been all the rage lately, but have you gotten to experience the magic for yourself? Restaurants have found innovative ways to continue the use of their outdoor spaces during the colder months through heat lamps and stove fire pits, but there is nothing quite like the intimate experience of dining in an igloo with family and friends. If you are interested in giving this cozy winter activity a try, check out the following four restaurants that offer igloo dining experiences!

First on the list is Igloos by the Sea at Gurney’s in Montauk. Stay warm and refreshed with their seasonal bites and cocktail menu in their heated igloos overlooking the ocean. Inside the private spaces you will find cozy décor, activities, and entertainment. To enjoy this experience, there is a $50 reservation fee which is donated to local charities. The igloos can be reserved for up to 6 people with a 2-hour time limit. A minimum of $100 food and beverage commitment is required during non-holiday periods, although the minimum may be higher during the holidays and peak demand periods. Pietro’s of East Meadow offers an exciting igloo experience adorned with festive décor and lights all around. If you are interested in a magical dinner under the stars, this is the place to go! Dining outdoors in the winter seems unusual, but in their coveted igloos you will enjoy a warm and cozy meal where reservations fill up quick. An important note is that due to demand, igloo bookings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday require a $200 table minimum between 4pm and 8pm, and a minimum of two people are required for a reservation. Looking for an even more unique experience? Rhum in Patchogue offers their igloo dining experience on the rooftop of their restaurant. These cozy outdoor domes offer stunning 360-degree views and can accommodate up to six guests each, perfect for a special occasion or a romantic night out. Each dome is equipped with a heater and Bluetooth speaker so you can relax and enjoy your own music while taking in the views from Patchogue’s only rooftop dining experience. Each lunch reservation has a duration of an hour and thirty minutes, while brunch and dinner have a two-hour duration. One last private igloo experience is found at The Baker House 1650 in East Hampton. Available 7 days a week, this experience is the perfect way to escape the crowds and create a cozy intimate setting for reunions, family time, special occasions, or a romantic date night. In the igloo you can enjoy great conversation while playing a game of scrabble, enjoying some light bites, as well as some wine from their house menu. For $30 per person, you can experience a moonlit two hour session and eat from a delicious charcuterie board and enjoy the company of friends and family.
