First launched at Mirabelle Tavern earlier this year, the 1890 Burger quickly rose to fame as one of Long Island’s best burgers, earning acclaim from both food critics and loyal guests. To celebrate its 135th anniversary, Lessing’s Hospitality Group is bringing this fan-favorite to three additional locations: Finnegan’s in Huntington, Sandbar in Cold Spring Harbor, and Bayberry in Islip. Starting October 9th, guests can enjoy this celebrated creation at the new spots—and every 135th 1890 Burger ordered will be free for one lucky diner.

The burger’s success is a testament to Lessing’s deep culinary roots and the vision of Executive Chef Billy Muzio and COO Lawrence Lessing. Together, they spent months perfecting the 1890 Burger, experimenting with meat blends, cooking methods, and ingredient pairings. “This burger has been 135 years in the making,” said Muzio, emphasizing the brand’s long-standing commitment to quality. “We pushed ourselves to get every detail right, and in the end, we let the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves.”

At the heart of the 1890 Burger is a 45-day dry-aged beef patty from Pat LaFrieda, using a proprietary blend of flavorful cuts for unbeatable tenderness and rich flavor. It's topped with Tillamook smoked cheddar, white onion, and a house-made sauce, all held together by a fresh sesame seed bun. “Our goal was to create a burger that could rival the most iconic burgers of New York City,” said Lawrence Lessing. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see how guests are responding to it.”

Due to high demand at Mirabelle Tavern, the burger is now being offered at more locations for a limited time. In addition to the free burger for every 135th order, the 50th guest at each participating location will receive a limited-edition 1890 hat. The promotion kicks off on October 9th, 2025, and runs through the end of the year—just another way Lessing’s continues to celebrate its legacy of unforgettable dining experiences across Long Island.
